About Us
MANAV KALYAN TRUST was setup in the loving memory of Late Shri Pravinchandra Savjibhai Kothari on 24th March, 1971. This trust was established with the vision to enlighten the spirit spread by this noble man who submerged his life serving people with special needs , who are made helpless by an orthodox society and are considered to be a curse by the almighty. His younger brother Shri Mahesh Kothari attempted to carry forward the vision of bringing back these gifted people into the mainstream of society by setting up this temple of learning. His endeavor now blossoms as an NGO renowned to cater to the needs of children with multiple disabilities.
The foundation stone of present school building complex was laid by then the President of India Shri V. V. Giri on 21st June 1971. On completion, it was inaugurated by respected Saint Shri Morari Bapu.
At present, the organization is aiming at improving the standard of living and lifestyle of Disabled Children. Here all their needs are taken care free of cost. The devotion and hard work of trustees and people associated with the working of the organization makes the institute second to none.

Shri Maheshbhai Kothari, President of Manav Kalyan Trust, was honoured by chairperson of UPA, Smt Sonia Gandhi at prestigious Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on 5 th Feb 2009. He was honoured with “Rajiv Gandhi Manav Sewa Awards” (2008) for Outstanding Contribution towards Service for Children in the fields of Child Development, Child Protection and Child Welfare.

He was honoured by “B. J. Modi FOUNDATION Award” (2007) for recognition of outstanding voluntary services by ' National Society for Equal Opportunities for the Handicapped, India (NASEOH ) ' Mumbai. The grand programme was arranged at Mumbai. The award was presented by Hon’ble Chief Justice Shri Swatanterkumar on 9th December 2007.
Manav Kalyan Trust was conferred by the award of “Best NGO of India” for the year 2006-07. The award was declared in recognition of outstanding achievements made and excellent standards set by the organization. The award was announced by National Trust, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, New Delhi. The award was presented to Shri Mahesh S. Kothari, President of the Manav Kalyan Trust on 26th September 2007 at New Delhi by Union Cabinet Minister Ms.MiraKumar.
Manav Kalyan Trust atnd Shri Mahesh Kothari was also honoured by many National , Regional and REligious Institution. THey given various awards for outstanding work in the field of persons with disability.
Precident of Manav Kalyan Trust Mahesh S. Kothari was -
- Associated with our late Prime Ministers Shri Jawaharlal Nehru, Smt. Indira Gandhi and also with Shri Rajiv Gandhi.
- He acted as representative of our late Prime Minister Shri Jawaharlal Nehru at World Peace Conference held in Japan in 1959.
- He is President of “Dandi Namak Satyagrah Smarak Trust.
- He is President of “Gandhi Remembrance Organization” at South Africa
Mission
Our mission is to provide all the disabled children with primary, secondary, integrated, and inclusive education and extend them support to pursue further studies to attend school and colleges. Our committed team constantly works for the overall development of every child with optimally utilizing the given resources.
In Free Residential Schools, special students are imparted Prevocational Training through “Training and Rehabilitation Centre for the Handicapped”. The organization helps them to gain expertise in Prevocational Training. The main objective of this trust has been to create a pleasant setting for students living away from home.
The organisation :
- Provide programmes and support to develop and enhance their social skills.
- Provide other programmes that enable students to take their rightful place in society.
- Encourage family involvement in student education and social development.
- Enhance career training and preparation including support.
- Provide support for enhancement of general school programmes.
